I create a calming space where
you can
find clarity, perspective
and more peace of mind.

Your heart is welcome here.

I understand the courage it takes to make your first contact with a counsellor. You might be feeling emotional, anxious, or stressed - and holding questions that really matter to you.

Please know that I will meet you with warm, open-hearted professionalism. Your concerns will be deeply heard and validated. I’ll offer supportive tools to help you navigate your way.

Together, we will explore your strengths and hoped-for-changes. We’ll build the safety that opens up new possibilities for healing, learning and growth.

I respect that healing and change take both work and time, Raewyn

My Counselling Offerings

  • One-to-One Counselling

People see a counsellor for a wide variety of reasons. If it matters to you, it matters to me. Our sessions are an invitation into a safe and restful space for your heart and mind, so perspective can come and understanding be felt. My practise is trauma-informed and founded on respect. No situation is ever ‘same – same’. You and your story deserve unique understanding and support.

  • Focusing

Focusing is a gentle body based modality. I have been a practitioner for over 20 years and this way of working is very close to my heart. The process supports us to come into a curious and compassionate relationship with parts of ourselves that are ‘making themselves known’. Focusing invites healing using your breathing and from a place of grounded ‘self in presence’.

  • Couples Counselling

In couples counselling ‘the client’ is your relationship. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) as an evidence-based framework for supporting couples. This non-intrusive, powerful form of enquiry helps us notice recurring patterns that play out between you. It offers insight into how each person’s behaviours and responses are received / perceived by their partner.

  • Work and Wellbeing - EAP

EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) is a professional and confidential service paid for by your employer. Many companies offer it to assist you if you are experiencing any personal or work related difficulties. I am an approved EAP counsellor on the Telus Health and Clearhead platforms. It is my pleasure to be your ally in exploring work and personal wellbeing.

Why do people seek out a counsellor?

There are as many reasons for seeking out a counselling relationship as there are individuals. No situation is ever ‘same-same’ but is deserving of careful listen and understanding. That said, below are some common reasons that can prompt people to seek counselling support.

  • Significant loss and grief (e.g., death of a loved one, end of a relationship).

  • Distress in personal relationships (family, friendships, workplace dynamics).

  • Challenges in educational environments (academic stress, peer relationships).

  • Major life changes prompting reevaluation of personal identity or goals.

  • Experiences of anxiety and emotional upheaval or mood fluctuations.

  • Mismatch between current experiences and desired life circumstances.

  • Struggles with communication and engagement in meaningful conversations.

  • Feelings of emotional withdrawal, overwhelm, or fatigue affecting enthusiasm for life.

  • Experiences of tension or distress in personal or professional settings.

  • Accumulated impact of ongoing stressors on well-being.

  • Counselling offers opportunities to strengthen our identity, make sense of painful experiences and to have healthier, more meaningful relationships - with ourselves and with others.
